My first run of 2010

What a glorious day! The sun was shining and it wasn’t too hot at 10:30 this morning so I decided to go for a run. I was a little bit hesitant because you never know what to expect after a winter of inactivity, but I managed to complete the loop without stopping and without cramping. Sure, my time wasn’t very impressive, nor was the distance (4.7km), but it’s only the first run of the year. I need to build up my endurance since I’m dusting off my cleats and re-joining my old Ultimate team this summer. With the weather looking so good for the long weekend, I might have to get Nelson out to the park so I can practice throwing and catching a disc again. I haven’t been on the field in 7 months. I traded in my cleats for curling stones over the winter. I figure, curling is my last chance of getting into the Olympics. As much as I love curling, I must admit that I miss the running around. I’m looking forward to this upcoming Ultimate season.
