Hubby got me the Kurt Kinetic trainer, and he’s set it up for me. I wanted a trainer so that I can continue biking through the Canadian winter. On the weekend, we went to Home Depot and bought a rug to place under the trainer/bike. I told hubby that we needed something to protect the carpet from dirt (I don’t have an exclusive indoor bike), and sweat. Trust me, riding is sweaty work. See the guy in this beautiful Kintetic video (below)? He’s dripping. It really does happen, but boy do you feel good afterwards!
So today was my first time back on the bike since… September or October, and my body was not afraid to let me know. My butt was sore after only 10 minutes, but I pushed forward. I definitely need to get back into stretching my hamstrings and strengthening my core because I noticed that in the drops, my arms were holding me up. That’s not good form and will lead to other problems.
I can see how this can become addictive. I’m already thinking about slipping back into my bike shorts and getting back on the bike again. This time, I’m going to grab a towel before I go downstairs.
