Tears, blood and fatal injuries were the result of two explosions that went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, 2013.
Overnight, an MIT university police officer responds to a report of a disturbance. He is later found inside his cruiser with multiple gunshot wounds. The officer is taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is pronounced dead.
Authorities pursue the two suspects. Suspect 1 has been pronounced dead. Suspect 2 is on the run.
A massive manhunt is underway for a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. Parts of Massachusetts have been shut down, and thousands of police and security officers are going door-to-door hunting for the suspect in Watertown.
The City of Boston and several surrounding suburbs are under a “shelter in place” request, in which residents are asked to hunker down at home and keep their businesses closed.
The police seem to be closing in on an area.
