As we prep to make a birthday dinner for my bestie, I stopped to take a video of hubs shaping his bread after the first rise. The dough feels really soft and fluffy, but it can get a bit tacky. You want to work quickly.
I whipped up a batch of the creamy tomato soup, which we stored in the garage overnight. Fridge space is getting tight! Hubs saran wrapped the edge of the pot so that bugs couldn’t get in (so cute!). I also tested out the paper loaf pans from Kitchen Stuff Plus. I wasn’t sure what to expect when baking up the Guinness Stout Ginger Loaves, so I turned down the temperature (325-330C) and baked for a shorter period of time (42 minutes). The recipe I follow will yield two 8″ x 4″ loaves, but the paper pans are smaller. I managed to fill three of the pans. The two I was giving away to my friends were sprayed with PAM, but the third pan was not. I highly suggest spraying. You’d think I would have taken a photo, but I didn’t. I’ll remember for the next batches.
Tomorrow morning we will make and shape the pasta. It’s going to be a busy day, but my bestie is worth it!
