My mother-in-law gifted me with a necklace, but not just any necklace. She understands my general tastes in fashion and always manages to pick out things I find appealing.
I’m fairly low-key when it comes to jewelry, and what I choose to decorate myself in depends on my mood. Sometimes I go with simple and classic (pearls), while other times I will choose to add a little colour or texture. But overall, I consider my jewelry to be on the “quiet” side versus in-your-face flashy.
When I unwrapped the necklace, it took me a moment to process it. It had a bit of a vintage look, yet displaying a playful twist. It was weighty and quite big, as a statement necklace should be, but I don’t wear many statement necklaces because I haven’t figured out how to incorporate it into my wardrobe. At the same time, I was drawn to the design idea – alphabet blocks/dice. The colour was very neutral and the bling factor was subtle and muted, which I liked.
This piece is part of the Lenora Dame collection.
I found a way to wear it. Don’t mind the white shirt under my sweater – it was a cool day. It elevated the casual weekend look up a notch and added a hint of glam to an otherwise plain sweater.
The only suggestion I would put forth to anyone wanting to wear this necklace is don’t wear it when you’re about to visit a friend that gives meaningful hugs. I was given the biggest, best bear hug, which firmly pressed the necklace into my collarbone and caused a small cut.
